Nite Trainr worked great to help our 9 yr old finally be dry at night. So glad we gave it a try. Do it at a time when the child is not in school (we did it during summer break) because for awhile you & them are waking up a few times during the night (like having a newborn) to respond to the alarm or clean up an accident. But it helped train my son to recognize his body cues even though he's a deep sleeper.

My 6 year old still wets nightly - we decided to get this to help train him. The first night it went off a few times and he got used to waking up. We had a few nights of success, but the next time he wet it didn't go off. He wasn't comfortable with the sensor against his p***s, so we had it placed between 2 pairs of underwear directly in front, so we thought that might be it. We tried it again in the underwear, next tiem he wet it didn't go off. It would work when placed under running water, but doesn't when he urinates. We're back to changing sheets nightly and trying to figure out what to do so we don't go back to diapers. And calling the company results in a recording saying htat their office isn't open now.

The pads stopped working within about 6 weeks. When it worked it did set off a very loud alarm. Unfortunately our son fell into the category of kids who can have a deafening alarm 4 inches from their ear and don't wake up at all. This system did not work for our son. It stopped working pretty quickly and even though it wasn't helping him anyway I had hoped we could come back to it in a few months. It broke before I'd given up on it working and have now gotten back to it, hoping it somehow healed itself while in the drawer, and it is definitely not working.

I used this product for 2 of my boys with 100% success. They were both 5 years old at the time and is was so easy, they were able to work it themselves after a few tries. One boy was fully trained within 2 weeks, the other took about 4 weeks. Instructions were simple to read. I have only positive things to say about this product as we had only a good experience with it. My sons both felt very good about themselves when using this product, and did not feel embarrassed or badly, but rather it helped give them more confidence that they "could do it". They were as happy as I was when little by little we had progress. Lots of "great job Bobby" or "you did it" also helped of course!

My son has battled nightly "accidents" for 11 years. This product had him trained in about 1 week!!! I had read a previous review like this before purchasing this product and thought "this won't apply to my kid, but I'll give it a try". I was glad to be proven wrong. I can't tell you how much security and confidence he has now, especially when asked to spend the night with friends. I am so happy for him, I wish I had gotten this for him a long time ago!

No a great product for older child

PROS

CONS

  • uncomfortable
  • difficult to position

BEST USES

Comments:

This product was recommended by my pediatrician. It might work for a younger child but my 9 year old could not position this correctly. Unfortunately because of the position problems he frequently woke up soaked and without the alarm every going off. Would not recommend this product for any older child.

Within 30 days, my six-year-old went from wetting through pull ups almost every night to sleeping through the night without a drop. This product retrained my child to recognize his full bladder and hold it until morning. No more washing bedding multiple times a week. No more pulls up to buy. Great product. Highly recommend to any parent. Wish more doctors knew to recommend it.

Comments:

this product has changed our lives. the alarm sounds when my 7 year old starts to go, and someone gets up with him and helps him to the toilet. the first days, we were up several times, but he quickly improved to being up just once and sometimes not at all. we are still working on trying to get 14 consecutive nights without the alarm going off. at that point, he will wear it just every other night for 14 nights. the key to this product, is to make sure you get up with your child. it takes a while for them to learn why an alarm is going off in the middle of the night. this product is sensitive and sufficiently loud, on it's loudest setting. i always make sure i can hear it at night by sleeping with my door open so i can assist my child in getting to the bathroom. he never wakes up in a wet bed. most nights he sleeps without wetting, but if it does go off, it wakes him and he finishes going in the toilet. it sounds so quickly that, we rarely even have to change his underwear. i always, just change it anyway. the alarm comes with a safety pin so that we can pin it right on the shoulder of his PJs. my child wets because he is a deep sleeper and the alarm is helping with that problem. if your child wets for another reason, than that problem should be solved first. i'm so glad i didn't pay more money for a fancier alarm. this was all we needed. it also came with a progress chart and we put a star for every night the alarm doesn't sound. he can see his progress. I am so glad i got this for my son.

This product works great. The only complaint I have is that my son says the sensor that goes into his underwear is not comfortable. The sensor is too large for his body size-and he is a normal size 9 year old.

After years of battling the bed wetting, when my daughter was SEVEN years old, I discovered this product. It worked IMMEDIATELY. Within a week she was cured with NO relapse. Now she can go to sleepovers without worry ! No more diapers, wet sheets, pads, and embarrassment. I only wish I had known about this product 4 years ago. I foolishly threw it away once she was cured. Now my 4 year old has the same problem ( must run in the family ) and so I am buying another one. I wish I had kept it. I highly recommend this product, enough to be a repeat customer !

When it would work we were happy. But, some nights my son would pee the bed and the alarm would not go off. We have gone through a lot of the pads. They are cheap and unreliable. They bend in the underwear and then don't work.
