The wireless alarm is unreliable

1.0

PROS

  • It is easy to use
  • It is small and neat

CONS

  • Only lasted 1 week
  • Constant problems
  • Stops alarming
  • Unreliable

BEST USES

  • None

Comments:

Easy to use for my child. Nothing great about it except the colour and size. I would definetely never reccommend. Batteries are extremely difficult to replace. It constantly stopped alarming although the red light would still flash. [...]. Be sure to read the fine print. Purchased a second alarm as my child wanted to stop bedwetting. It also had the same problems. I would certainly not reccomend the wireless one all it created was frustration for my son. I would think about buying the other type as i like the concept.

PROS

  • Easy to use
  • Works well
  • Good bang for your buck

CONS

BEST USES

  • Can use day and night

Comments:

Within the frist three weeks, nightime accidents have dramatically decreased. The majoirty of accidents that did occur were very small. He stops himself from emptying his bladder in the bed. Now we only have to change his clothes when he has an accident instead of clothes, sheets and blanket. Not an instant cure but definately improves bladder function.

Comments:

Several years ago we tried an alarm for our son that had a cord and an ear piercing alarm that clipped to his shirt by his shoulder. He is extremely sensitive to loud sounds and having that wake him up in the middle of the night was traumatic. We recently ordered this alarm and the difference was HUGE. We set the alarm across the room from his bed and he has been able to get up, shut it off, and get to the bathroom all on his own - without freaking out and holding his ears. The alarm volume is not loud enough from our bedroom so we do not get up and help him. This is great for kids that are able to manage on their own. It really does work!! Within just a few days he has been able to stay dry. The alarm only went off a few times the first few days and then one day he woke up just as the alarm started ... and he has been dry ever since. This is a miracle for this 9 year old boy!!! I wish we had tried this wireless setup years ago!! We did have an issue after a few days - I think my son left the clip down and the batteries wore out. The alarm did not work at all one night and I thought it was defective (it was acting exactly the opposite of what you would expect) ... I purchased new batteries for both the sensor and the remote base and it has worked great since.

This is an easy-to-use product that has been a terrific help to my bed wetter son. He can clip it on himself and set the alarm. I like the magnetic way that it goes on the underwear. It does not interfere with his nighttime comfort. I'm glad I got a wireless alarm. It is simple, easy to use and comfortable. The instructions were clear and I liked the paper schedule that they supplied to track his progress. My son is 12 and hasn't been able to stop wetting at night his whole life. He is a very deep sleeper. Now he sleeps in underwear is looking forward to sleepovers. It is amazing!

Wow! After 11 years of diapers and pull-ups, I had started to wonder if my son would ever make it over this night time wetting hurdle. We tried EVERY tip imaginable to help him with his bed wetting, with no success at all. My son is an extremely sound sleeper and does not waken to alarm clocks, etc., therefore, I was very skeptical of a "bed wetting alarm". As a last ditch effort, we decided to give the bed wetting alarm a try. After about 10 weeks of nightly use, we have finally made it! This product WORKS...but don't expect it to happen over night. My son has gone from soaking through overnight pull-ups every single night to waking up dry every morning! Thank you so much for providing a product that has given my son the freedom to finally sleep over at a friends house. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a child who struggles with bed wetting. I wish we would have purchased this alarm years ago.

We were skeptics, but decided to give it a try. We went from daily bed linen washing as our 7 year old son would even soak through a night-time Pull-up, to being completely dry after 5 weeks. The first 2 weeks were horrible when the alarm would go off and he wouldn't hear it, but he has now been dry without the alarm for 2 weeks. He now has more confidence. What a great product. We still can't believe it worked!!!

This is our second alarm. The first was the Malem Ultimate which we liked, but it finally wore out. We decided to go with the wireless this time so that we had less parts to wear. I am very disappointed because after one week, it won't work. We have had to take it apart 3 times to adjust it and will get it to work for a couple of days only for it to stop again. We have other wireless devices in our house and is apparently getting other frequencies. I called to see if I can return and replace back with the ultimate (non wireless) I am told that I have to call back for them to troubleshoot with me on the phone. I have not been able to do it and we have tried to change the frequency various times. It now is not being used and I would not recommend the wireless device.

This is my second Malem alarm. The first was an Ultimate Malem alarm and it worked well on one of my bedwetters. I ended up getting the wireless to see if it would work better for my second bedwetter. Unfortunately, I washed the transmitter after about 2 weeks of use. I can't be the only busy mom out there. [...] I wouldn't reccommend the wireless anyway. The vibration mode on the Ultimate alarm worked much better.

A good alarm for the money

Comments:

I was about at the end of my rope. I was washing wet sheets everyday. Now that we've gotten this alarm, I haven't had to wash any wet sheets. I just lay a waterproof pad on the bed just in case, but the alarm has awakened my son up before the pad has the chance to get wet. We've used the alarm with success for about 6 weeks now. This is definately a process, but we are well on our way! I thought the price was a bit high, but well worth the money considering what I was spending on water, soap and my time doing laundry! We have not had a problem with the alarm coming off (a concern since it is held on with magnets). It must also be pretty comfortable because it doesn't bother my son when sleeping. It is very easy to use.

Comments:

We have non-identical twins who are 5 years old. One has been dry since she was nearly 3, the other completely the opposite. We started using this alarm during the Christmas holiday when we were both at home. We were expecting a lot of sleep interruption, as my daughter used to pee about 3 times a night into a diaper/nappy. We set it up next to a baby monitor so we would hear the noise downstairs or in our bedroom. The first few nights we were woken up 3 times, but after about a week of use, she no longer pees in the night. She goes to bed at 7pm, and we take her to the potty when we go to bed between 10-11. We still have a little way to go, but unquestionably, this product helped her associate the noise with going. She didn't always wake up to start with, and I wonder if this product would need to be louder for some children, but all in all, worth every penny. I dropped it on the floor twice and it's still working.
