Comments:

The alarm works when wet - I did find it a bit complicated to figure out but once I did no problems. I still do not know how to set the sound to the specific one my son wants but it doesn't really matter since he's hardly awake when it goes off. One sound doesn't seem to alert him more than any other. At first my son would ignore or sleep through the alarm - but after 3 weeks it seems to be alerting him and he is getting up to go at night. Still some wetness but not full soakings anymore - huge improvement! As for the "not waterproof" part - my son does not wear PJs or any kind of shirt at night. So we've attached the alarm to his underwear. Works fine but if the alarm box gets too wet it does not shut off. So at 3am I'm trying to find anything to pry open the battery compartment to pull out the batteries. I wish the electronic parts were better protected from getting wet and the battery compartment was easier to open. Overall, very pleased with the results and hope to be completely off the alarm in the future.

It is amazing how well this works. I still don't know just HOW it works, but within 2 weeks, my 6 year old daughter was dry. She has just completed the 6 weeks and has been dry for 4 weeks straight! My daughter is very confident and so proud of herself. I would recommend this to anyone!!!

Comments:

We bought this alarm for our nearly 8 year old son. Before the alarm, he was wearing pull-ups at night and they would be very wet every morning. Within 2 weeks of wearing the alarm, he quit wetting the bed. It takes some work with the parents being involved, especially at the beginning, but it has been so worth it! I can also tell how proud my son is of himself...which is the best thing for any mom to see!

Comments:

I could not recommend this product more highly! Our son is younger than the recommended age of 6, but we could tell that he had the ability and the desire to stay dry at night and just needed a little extra help waking up to go potty. We introduced him to the product, let him see what it does, explained everything to him and reminded him again at bedtime what to expect and what to do if the alarm went off (and assured him we'd be right there too if the alarm did go off). We made it fun, with encouragement and no pressure, and basically stuck to the directions and recommendations in the product pamphlet. After 4 nights of being wet, he got up on his own two times each night for the next two nights to use the potty on his own without a single drop in his undies. Then he had two nights of slight wetness and now we're on a 5 day streak of being completely dry. THIS PRODUCT REALLY WORKS! It is pricey, but if you calculate the price of expensive nighttime pull-ups and all the expense and time of doing extra laundry (I was washing sheets practically every night even with a waterproof pad on top of the sheets!), it actually makes a lot of sense economically.

This has been so wonderful for my 6 year old. We struggled with wet sheets for years and pull ups and he was tired of it. We were recommended the alarm and it worked. I didn't think I was going to chart results, but I am so glad we did. You could see the progress instantly. The first week he woke up wet every night. The next week it was every other night. Eventually, it was not at all. We finally realized it hadn't gone off in over 3 weeks and took it off all together and he is doing great. I am so happy for him. It was never made into an issue at our home but I just think he sleeps better now that he isn't wet all the time. It definitely trained him.

My 6-year old daughter actually enjoyed wearing it. She would tell everyone how she was a "deep sleeper" and how the alarm would help her wake up. It took about 10 days, but then it just clicked. We haven't even had one accident since.

My only complaint is the batteries. After 7-10 days they were low. I replaced them with the extra batteries that the alarm came with and again after a week or two they were dying. I had to buy new batteries.

I don't know yet whether this will solve my daughter's problem. Her accidents are infrequent, and sometimes she doesn't remember getting up in the night after the alarm sounds. We're keeping our fingers crossed. I will say the alarm is very sensitive and loud enough for me to hear. Just be sure to check the batteries the morning after the alarm goes off; once they get weak, the alarm isn't loud enough to wake the child.

My son was dry all night within two weeks and after about 3-4 weeks the thing never went off again. My wife called Malem several times with questions and was treated courtiously and received good information every time. We put it away for a few months, then I sold it locally. Shortly after, my son started to relapse. Within a month, he was again wetting every night. I had to buy a second one. Again, he was dry within two weeks. You can be sure I'll hang onto this one for a while. The little clip that goes down where the action is seems sort of fragile. If it was ever stepped on, it would definitely break. This hasn't happened to me, but I have had to be vigilant about picking it up off the floor (is this a defect or just poor parenting?)

This product has helped get my six year old out of Pull Ups at night. It took about a week for him to know when to get up to use the restroom. He is still using the alarm, but has had one accident in two weeks. Soon he won't be using it at all. I recommend it highly, but the alarm can be placed where the moisture won't get to it immediatly.

Too soft not loud enough, doesn't always wake up our daughter. Seemed louder when we first got it.[...]. Clip broke after a week and we had to spend more money to fix, kind of a joke that something that expensive has no guarantee on early wear and tear.

My 10 year old has struggled for years to be dry at night. We were so excited when our doctor recommended an alarm. We didn't know anything about them. But he experienced his first dry night within a few days. He has now been dry for 19 consecutive nights! I can't tell you how much stress this has relieved for me and my son. We also got him a vibrating watch to use during the day to remind him to go at regular intervals (he was also having daytime accidents). I think the combination of the watch and the alarm has been important for him. It's been easier to move toward dryness at night because he's not keeping his bladder too full all day long. He loves gadgets, and has been so motivated to be successful and have these gadgets help him.

Comments:

We used it consistently like advised until we had 14 dry days. A relapse started the process one last time and that was all it took. We are so pleased with the results. The unit was so loud (and my background is in audiology) that we place the unit further down his chest and aimed the speaker away from his ear. He could wake up easily with the volume, yet we think if there had been a volume control, we could have placed it closer to his ear as you suggest on the shoulder at a volume we felt comfortable having close to his eardrum. The cord length was too long for him so we stuffed the rest of it in his pajama pants. I'm not sure how you could make the cord adjustable... It was a grating sound (which he picked out)which was perfect. It woke him up every time, and he, in time, was able to get up by himself and turn it off. He'd needed help getting new clothes on and putting on the alarm in the middle of the night. It took about 3 months total and we are really pleased with your product. The color this unit came in was red (his favorite color) and if it hadn't been, we would have liked the option of having this same regular unit with one alarm sound in a variety of colors.

I have been using this for my 10 year-old son, who returned to bedwetting after 18 months of being dry. He returned due to intense emotional stress. He muffles the alarm and keeps sleeping and peeing, and this uses the batteries up in a couple weeks.
