Our alarm came within a week of ordering it. We began using the alarm on our 9 yr. old son (who has always been an every night bedwetter) on 12/23. At first, he slept thru the alarm & vibrations! Don't despair, because within a few days he was waking up on his own. By the 2 week mark, he had a couple of dry nights. By day 25, he has experienced 6 nights of dry nights! He wakes in the morning at his regular time & uses the bathroom, having held his urine all night long! This alarm somehow awakens the bladder-brain connection! When he has had 2 wks of dry nights, we will alternate using the alarm every other night, as the makers recommend. If all goes as we think it will, he will celebrate with a sleepover!!! Wish we had done this 3 years ago...

I have no idea why this product worked but it definitely did. In the beginning the monitor went off every night. It woke up everyone in the house except for my son. We dragged him to the potty half or all the way asleep. Even at this point it was a help because we would catch him with only wet underwear not wet sheets and blankets. Then about a month after we got the monitor it stopped going off. His bed has been dry every night since then! I am still making him wear it for a little longer because we are going on some trips...but actually I think he doesn't need it anymore. For us it was definitely worth the money! Thank you!

My 10 year old struggled with bedwetting every night. It started to effect her confidence. We saw results within three days of using this product. It was easy for my child to use and effective when the alarm sounded she was easily awaken and able to control her night time bedwetting.

We tried many different ways to deal with bed wetting. We asked friends, family, doctors but none of their suggestions worked. This product that worked. I only wish we'd tried it sooner. Our child is happier and more confident now that this is behind us. I am a little stunned that our pediatrician didn't mention this and he is really good in all other respects. It took a bit of patience but we began to see success inside of ten days and it only got better from there.

It took about a week of using this alarm to take our never-dry six-and-a-half year-old to dry every night. The alarm was audible from her room to ours (down an average hallway) and woke her readily. I used a recording of my own voice telling her it was time to go potty. It has now been three months since we stopped using the alarm and we have had no accidents. Highly, highly recommended!

We used this for our 6 year old son who would have accidents almost 6 out of 7 nights a week. We felt he was old enough now that we could give this a shot. It was incredibly effective for us and after 2 weeks he didn't need it anymore (it may take longer for other children). We think for our son, he just needed the encouragement and to think about getting up at night and perhaps that's why it worked so quickly. The voice recording feature made the alarm bigger, but it was definitely worth it. He would fall asleep stressing about what it would be like when the alarm work him up, but when I played my personalized message for him it made him smile. You will have to get up at night to help your child, but this was not a problem for me. After a few nights, he started talking about not wanting to wear it anymore, but we made him try anyway. Soon enough, he didn't need it anymore. I think it's economical, because with the cost of overnight pull ups/month, I figured if this cut down the cost of pull ups by 3 months, it would pay for itself. And it certainly did. He had a few lapses while we were out traveling or if we've been too busy and he's not in a normal routine. Keep the pull ups around a little longer just in case. If you are looking to help your child stay dry all night, and ready to make an effort, I would definitely recommend this product.

My daughter wore this to bed for a couple of weeks. The recorded voice of her sister talking to her got her up to go to the bathroom. For another week, she wore it but it never went off so she was dry That was it - now we have lent it to a friend.

Our daughter is six years old and never had a dry night. Once we started the Malem Recordable Alarm, she was very excited to stop wearing Underjams. When we first started using the alarm we would hear it before she would and we would have to wake her up. However, it must have startled her enough because when we would wake her up she hadn't completely wet the changing pad we put on over her bed sheet. So we'd take her to the bathroom, replace the changing pad and she'd be great the rest of the night. After about a week she was waking up on her own when the alarm would go off and she'd get to the bathroom in time. I would say we used the alarm for about four weeks total and now with no alarm she can wake herself up if she needs to go to the bathroom. Some nights she doesn't have to get up at all! This is a wonderful product and I and so happy how quickly it worked! Our daughter is happy and this has really boosted her self confidence! I highly recommend this product!

My 6.5 year old daughter has ASD and sensory processing problems. She was still not fully potty trained. Her teachers were bringing her to the potty on a schedule. At home she had many accidents. I purchased this particular model because of the voice recording feature. First, I didn't want the alarm to scare her and second, I wanted it to be a voice command so she could follow the direction to go to the bathroom and learn the feeling of when she had to go. This product worked as I hoped it would within days of using it and I loved that it vibrated in conjunction with the recording. A little extra motivation. I recorded my voice saying "Name of child, go to the potty". When it first went off, my dd just sat there. I led her to the bathroom and she actually finished her business in the toilet. Then over time as soon as the alarm sounded she walked herself to the bathroom. And now, the alarm barely sounds. As the days and weeks have passed, she continues to stay dry. I have yet to tackle night time but I'm sure it will be just as successful. Good luck to all.

I haven't begun using the alarm with my son, but I wanted to post this comment in case someone else was debating between alarms. This alarm does not allow you to select between the 8 sounds. I can see this as being a benefit so that the child will not become accustomed to one sound; however, there were a few sounds I didn't like, so I bought this alarm thinking that I could just choose the ones I preferred. The only choice you have with this alarm is to use your recorded message, the built in 8 random playing sounds, or just the vibration mode.

A few years ago, I purchased the Malem Ultimate 1S and achieved good results with my then 6-year old son. Unfortunately, after a few months, the volume on the alarm seemed to decrease markedly, and the alarm no longer woke my son. My son is now motivated to become dry, so I decided to purchase the recordable alarm to have the recordable option. We are on our second month of using this alarm and have gone from zero dry nights, to 50% dry the first month, to, perhaps 75% dry. I was concerned that my son would balk because this alarm is decidedly pink in color, but he didn't. Also this alarm is bulky, about twice as thick as the Ultimate 1S which some children might not like. My theory, though, is that my son may be somewhat aware of the presence of the alarm while he is sleeping, which may be helping him. The alarm is loud when placed close to the ear, and the vibration is very strong. I haven't needed to use the recordable option because this alarm is hard to ignore. Also, the clip seems easier to use than my old one. I would recommend this alarm.

Recordable voice is the best feature. The alarm noise is crazy and I am sure would work for heavy sleepers. Our son didn't need that, and we thought that would be too scary to wake up with such a loud buzzer! With the recordable voice we were able to have some fun and record himself and us telling him to "wake up and go potty". He has responded well, and after about 4 weeks...no more wetting at night!!

I'm amazed at how fast this worked! We've tried everything to help my son to not have to wear a pull up. Nothing worked. Started using this every night, with a recorded "wake up and go to the bathroom," within 3 weeks he wakes up and goes to the bathroom. He's had 18 days of perfect nights. It's incredible!

Button too hard to depress, so my child removes it every night. She does this in her sleep and is not aware of the removal. The other model with 8 sounds/buzzer had a better button. Wondering if mine is defective?

I was very impressed with how quickly it helped my 6yr old learn to be dry through the night. It was a real confidence booster for her. The info sheet was great and helped us to have realistic expectations. We were prepared to have her wear this for 8 or more weeks, but I am please to say that within 10 days she was dry on average of 6 nights a week. The times she did wet was a few drops and then quickly awoken by alarm. We no longer use the alarm and she is still consistently dry. We are very please with this product! In hindsight the alarm/vibration model would have been all we needed. She slept right through the recordable message. Maybe if the message setting also vibrated it would have awoken her. This one is larger and heavier than the other models and really seemed to hang and pull. This alarm is pretty pricey but if you want a sure thing then this is it!
