When he was just turning seven, my heavy-sleeping, small-bladdered son let me know that he was tired of pull-ups. He was urinating several times every night, in large amounts. Occasionally, we would try having him sleep in underwear, waking him up to pee regularly, and limiting his liquid intake, all to no avail. We are so happy that we finally decided to try a bedwetting alarm! Here is a breakdown of my son's progress, so far: Week 1: very wet urination 6 nights, 1 dry night Week 2: very wet urination 5 nights, 2 dry nights Week 3: very wet urination 4 nights, 3 dry nights Week 4: slight to very wet urination 3 nights, 4 dry nights Week 5: 1 wet night, 6 dry nights! Week 6: 1 wet night, 6 dry nights Week 7: 1 wet night, 6 dry nights Week 8: 1 wet night, 6 dry nights Week 9: 1 wet night, 6 dry nights Week 10: some more wet nights, but with a big breakthrough -- he has been waking up BEFORE the alarm goes off. Week 11: 1 wet night, 6 dry nights Our son is more confident and is looking forward to finally getting to have sleep overs, and we are so proud of the growth he has made over the past couple of months. The Malem Bedwetting Alarm is definitely one of the best parenting investments we've ever made. A caveat: you and your child definitely need to be invested in making this work. It takes commitment and patience. For us, the timing was right, and we are so happy with the change it has brought to our son and our family. One final tip: double-elimination at bedtime works wonders!

My daughter was potty trained at 2. No problems. Both day and night. Suddenly she began having "accidents". It was so bad we actually went back to diapers full time. I tried training her two more times over the years. It got to the point where I took her to a Urologist for testing. NOTHING I did seemed to work. Finally, I tried this. It put me and my daughter on the same team. I was frustrated with her anymore. We worked together. At first she would wake up 2xs a night wet. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the wet pad that comes with the kit. I also would just set out extra pjs and underwear in the bathroom so it would be a quick change in the middle of the night. After a few days, she would just wake up once. Then, a few days later, she would wake up with just her underwear wet.... The alarm is so sensitive that her pjs were still dry, just the underwear was damp! A few days later and she was dry all night. She was able to get up all by herself and go potty without the alarm going off! We kept the alarm on her for two more weeks just in case. I have never been so happy with a product. It has now been a few months. She has had one or two bed wettings. We just put the alarm back on her and she stays dry. I never read the book. I still use the pads though under the sheets (just in case) so I won't have to change all of her bedding in the middle of the night IF there is a problem. I Love this product. After 3 1/2 years of suffering, we are finally clean and dry! Interestingly enough, she no longer has day accidents now either. Both were cured by this night-time alarm. It is super easy to attach, and clean. I feel like it is durable. Worth every penny. I would do it again in a heart beat. Wish I had done it earlier.

My son is 6 1/2 and was looking forward to finding something that would keep him dry at night. I had warned him that it would take time, but he still wanted the alarm. The first week, he did not wake up with the alarm, every time we woke him up. After the second week, he would wake up himself, with only very few drops on his underwear. We did it for a total of 5 weeks. While we ended up washing way fewer sheets and pyjamas, we did not have any increase in the number of dry nights, and our son was really tired from waking up once or twice a night. He was very whiny, and eventually he asked us to stop it. We are going to try the alarm again, but maybe when he is a little more mature, or possibly during summer vacation, so that he can get more sleep.

This product worked exactly as promised. Our 6 year old started wetting the bed after years of dry nights. Thr doctor recommended an alarm. After reading the book that came with the alarm (which we highly recommend doing), we started using the alarm. As promised, within 3 weeks, the alarm sound trained our son to wake up on his own if he needed to use the toilet, or on most nights, wait until morning. The alarm sound is jarring (we turned off the vibration after the first week because that was too much for him), and he did complain at nights before bed time about not wanting to hear the sound, but we ultimately think dislike of the sound is what helped him retrain himself. Recommend getting the alarm with multiple sounds to find the one that's the least frightening to a sleepy child. The bedpads are also highly convenient so you don't have to change the sheets; you may have to pin them to the bed though-they are slippery. The book's suggestion to go to every other day alarm use after 2-3 dry weeks was an excellent suggestion. The progress chart in the book was a wonderful tool. We're now two months from our start date and our son has graduated from the alarm and he's put it away forever.

After being toilet trained at 3 1/2 years of age, my son started wetting the bed occasionally at 5 years of age. By six, however, he was wetting the bed on a regular basis. After discussion with our pediatrician, we opted for an alarm and were pointed to the bedwetting store website. The Malem alarm has been the best purchase decision. My son was completely open to using the alarm because he wanted to stop bedwetting. This alarm worked GREAT! I read the Seven Steps book and used the alarm as advised and results happened. We no longer wake up to a wet bed and loads of laundry every morning because my son is dry! It is wonderful!

I have two children ages 9 and 6 years old who have never had a dry night. I purchased this initially for my 9 year old daughter. She was dry from the first night! The buzzer alone was enough to wake both of us even in separate rooms. She is so happy and feels so much more confident now that she is keeping her bed dry! I wish I had done it sooner! My daughter is 7, we've tried everything before this. The first night she wore this she was dry. Took about a month, and now she's been dry for 7 days in a row, waking herself up to go to the bathroom. The change is unreal.

Clip fell off of my son's underwear every night leaving my son wet and disappointed that his alarm didn't go off. We had very high hopes for this. Not at all worth the money it costed.

My daughter started trying without pull-ups before it arrived and she did better then. Once she started using the device she seemed to wet the bed two or three times a night, verses two or three times a week. We are still trying it after two weeks, hoping it will eventually help her. thus far not impressed.

We bought this for my almost 7 year old son and had such high expectations due to the other reviews. I was so disappointed. We've been working at this for almost 7 weeks now and we still have wet nights almost every night. The wet nights are nothing compared to the fact that once his alarm goes off, we have to literally dismantle it (take out the battery) to get it to turn off because removing it from his underwear and hitting the button do not work. He is learning some how to get up on his own and go to the bathroom but that's not every night so we continue to use the alarm because it at least wakes him up. The only benefit that I can see is that he once in a while will wake up on his own to go in the middle of the night and then I he has a dry night.

We've had this item for a little over a month now. Within the first week of use we noticed a difference in frequency of bedwetting. The last few weeks have been dry nights for the exception of one big accident. We think our son just removed the alarm because it was going off and went right back to sleep - so that was a problem. Other than that it has really helped and we hope that after a few more weeks of use he'll be ready to not wear it anymore.

My 7 year old son has been using this alarm for the last 6 weeks. In those 6 weeks we have only had to change his bed because of a wet spot ONCE! And he has sound sensitivity, so we use the alarm on the vibration setting with no sound. I am still amazed that it works! He has gone 14 night without the alarm sounding, so now we're alternating nights as suggested in the handbook. I estimate that he will be alarm free in 2-3 weeks. For a child who was wetting his bed every night, this is amazing. He is so proud!

This product is easy to use and does the job. My 5 year old is a deep sleeper and had accidents every night. It took 6 weeks and now has been night dry for 1 full week! He hates wearing the device but knows it works and that its helping him. I am so glad we bought this when we did, such a great product! Most importantly my 5 year old is so proud that he is not having accidents anymore!
