The cord is exceptionally long...not sure if that is due to older children using the product (my son is only 7). As to the mattress pads. THese are truly wonderful, but I wish there was a little more variety in the size. My son is in a queen size bed. I would have really liked to have a pad that fit from side to side and could be tucked in beneath the mattress. I have to put it under his sheet. This protects the mattress pad, etc. if he wets through, but I would prefer to put the pad on top of the sheet. I can not now because he gets all tangled up in it!

We had been trying for months and months to break our son of the bed wetting and after less than a month of wearing this he no longer wets the bed! He's been dry at night now for well over a month and prior to that would be woke up by the alarm once or twice a week, get up and go to the bathroom and not be totally soaked like before. A friend recommended this to me and I have to say I was not totally sold that it would work like it did. I'm amazed and so excited we are done with pull ups!

We bought this kit for our 8 year old son who was wet every night with few exceptions. We started with the standard tone but within a few nights switched to the variable which worked better to rouse our son(and us!) Today, he has been dry for 4 weeks after only using the alarm for 6 weeks. So happy to have tried this product! Only gave 4 stars as we never used the pads so don't know well they work.

I bought this product for my nearly 5-year-old, who was frustrated with his inability to wake up when he had to urinate. When I told him about the product and showed him the video, he asked me to buy it for him. He used it for a couple of weeks with significant reduction in the amount of urination prior to waking. He was able to wake up before soiling more than his pants and get to the bathroom, preventing a need to change the sheets at every accident. He does not like that it scares him when it goes off and currently does not want to use it. It has not changed his inability to wake up before an accident, but we have not used it for very long and are still hoping to see those results.

The booklet was informative, the pads easy to use, even for a boy who flops back and forth in bed, and the alarm worked as advertised. It took a little more than three weeks for results as our child was at the right age and ready for this alarm and this treatment. "Train the brain" was our motto and our 7 year old has been dry for 22 days and counting . . .

My son is 7, he's been in pull ups at night forever, we've tried stopping drinks, getting him up, etc. But nothing really worked. He would be so exhausted he could hardly get out of bed. This alarm after just a few weeks has him popping up, disconnecting it himself, changing his underwear if needed and back to bed. His most recent span was 10 days dry, then he had a very long day, and just like the book says, overtired may cause nighttime urination. He ended up having an accident, but not much, his alarm caught him early on, He was disappointed b/c we needed to start recounting the days over, but actually, it's been a good thing. I'm not sure how this works, but it works! He is learning to get up, and stay dry, Worth all the money, especially if he can go to camp without pull ups!

We used the alarm as instructed. My son was eager to try it, and he had no problem sleeping with it. The system worked very well, and responded when he wet. Unfortunately I discovered that my son sleeps REALLY soundly. The alarm did not wake him up; I could not wake him up. We have decided to discontinue the alarm and try again in a few months. Overall, I think it's a good system, but if your child is a very sound sleeper, it may not be sufficient.

I have tried almost everything to get my seven year old son to stop wetting the bed. Our pediatrician had provided me the Bedwetting Store web site during my son's six year appointment. A year later, I finally visited the site and ordered the Malem Ultimate Bedwetting Alarm Starter Kit. I was very skeptical, but hopeful that this thing would work. After two weeks of using the device, my son no longer needs the device and is not wetting the bed anymore! This product really works!!! For the first week, I slept with my son to make sure he wouldn't be too startled by the alarm. It is quite loud. I would stop the alarm and reattach the device after he went to the bathroom. During the second week, I could tell he was sleeping longer before the alarm went off until he finally slept through the night. The great things about this product are that this device really works and is easy to use. The only negative thing I can say, which is reaching a bit, is that I could not find a way to control the volume of the alarm. Thank you so much Bedwettingstore.com!

I purchased this starter kit for my 5.5 yr old daughter who was still wearing pull-ups and thoroughly soaked them EVERY single night. In fact, the first night, she wet the bed THREE times! In the first week, she was able to stop the flow when the alarm went off and make it to the bathroom to finish emptying her bladder. The second week consisted of 5 of 7 dry nights. We are currently about to complete week 5 and in the last 4 straight weeks, she has stayed completely dry 82% of the nights. I still don't understand how it works, but this was the best money I've ever spent. My daughter is a very hard sleeper and didn't hear it at first. I slept with her for the first 2 weeks to make sure she woke up to the alarm. After that, she was able to rouse on her own if it went off. The vibration helps too for hard sleepers who may be sensitive to feel, but not sound. The alarm is very easy to use, the matress covers are so much easier to switch out when necessary than a full matress pad and the book helped me to set a strategy. The Progress Chart is great to look back and see how far she has come in a short time period. I've been telling everyone about this product! It's like a miracle in our household. On the downside, probably the only thing I would complain about is the safety pin clasp. It's held up very well, but I can't help but feel it could easily break and then I would have no other way to attach it. As a design improvement, I would suggest a built in clip (kind of like the tiny square ipod shuffles that had a built in spring clip for easy attachment to clothes)

This alarm is INCREDIBLE! All I can say is that I wish I had purchased it sooner. My 5-year-old (almost 6) is starting to stay nights over with a friend and expressed concern about staying dry at night. She was sleeping in an UnderJam every night and had NEVER had a dry night. I have to admit that I was very skeptical of the alarm. My daughter is a very deep sleeper and I wasn't sure that the alarm would wake her up. The first 2 nights the alarm went off a couple of times. By the third night she was waking up dry and every night since for over a month now. I could not believe how fast it worked! My daughter is so thrilled! I really wished I would have purchased the Malem Alarm sooner. What a blessing it has been to our family!

no, seriously - this alarm went through the washing machine! I didn't notice till I heard a clanking sound in the DRYER. {sigh} It was sort of going off randomly after that...but I put it in a ziplock bag full of rice for 2 days, and now works absolutely fine again, for the last 2 weeks. My son is 6 yrs old and had NEVER had a dry night until using this product. We've been underway with the plan for about 4 or 5 weeks now and we're batting about .500 over the last few weeks...it would be higher than that, but he tends to unhook the alarm after he wakes up and uses the toilet, and then wakes up wet in the AM. It is difficult to change the alarm tone (you have to take the batteries out to access it) but being able to customize it has enabled better compliance. He only liked the "lasers" sound. He can connect the alarm to his shirt and underwear himself, which is great. The book was so helpful in understanding the plan, and we are using the chart in the back to track our progress. We opted to use underwear UNDER a pullup, so we have not had the chance to evaluate the tuckable mattress pads. He is sleeping with them under him - so they must be fairly comfortable - but we haven't had to wash them yet.

We are on our 6th week and my 8 year old son recently had 6 dry nights in a row (after being wet every night for years). After the first few days he only wet drops (literally) before the alarm woke him up and he was able to get to the bathroom. We didn't even need to change bedding or even his pajama bottoms; just underwear. Even if he didn't wake up immediately, he was still able to stop urinating after the alarm sounded. We couldn't be happier! Much better results than I even expected! I would highly recommend! The book was great; offering comprehensive information about bed wetting and a variety of solutions.

We purchased this for our son who has ADHD and sleeps soundly when his medication wares off. He would wet the bed every night but after the first night with the alarm he learned to stop mid stream and has now been accident free for about 8 weeks now. Wonderful product and worth the money.
