PROS

  • Significantly vibrates
  • LOUD
  • Cool pattern

CONS

  • Parent cannot always hear
  • Expensive
  • Cord quit working

BEST USES

  • With a baby monitor
  • With bed pads

Comments:

My son is 8 years old and a very difficult bedwetter (wets every night, and high volumes.) Even restricting fluids, urinating before bedtime, waking during the night to go to the restroom didn't keep him from wetting. We ordered the alarm as a last resort before medications. Although the alarm is very loud and vibrates significantly, my son still either did not wake up to it or woke up long enough to unclip the clip from his underwear and push the button on the unit to turn it off. So I got out a baby monitor so I could hear the alarm when it went off to help him out of bed. I also started pinning the vibrating unit to his back so he couldn't reach it easily. We were to the 12 week mark with some dry nights and still some wet nights. Kept using this alarm until the cord got a short in it and wouldn't go off even though my son was soaked. So, if you buy this unit, go ahead and purchase an extra cord to have on hand because if you are in the middle of training you don't want to interrupt training to order a new cord.

Comments:

Our 12 year old, life-long bedwetting foster son has tried to sabotage through disconnecting the alarm or monitor, getting on top of or hiding protective padding, not making his bed right and on and on. We need to micromanage each step of the way ensuring his enuresis program is followed, but you know what..... it's working! He is now dry nearly 2 out of 3 nights - after 8 weeks. We have the 8 sound alarm. One of them I have trouble responding to. As our child will not respond unless I respond, I now meet him after I hear the bathroom door close. This ensures he makes it to the bathroom at least. The next task is getting him to independently change his PJ's and underwear. The hardest part has been his hiding the protective bedding. The system sometimes works better than the client, hence the need for great parental support. A behavioral program rewarding expectations as met or service charges when tasks met by parents (we get the 25 cents instead of him) have worked. His resistance is lessening. We are getting there. Do get the starter kit, read the book " 7 Steps to Nighttime Dryness" yourself and with your child and then consistently follow all instructions. Learn to layer protective padding. As your child wets, you can just peel back layers. We use a protective pad on top too! What a laundry saver!

My 8 year old daughter has not had a dry night ever. The first week she had 5 wet nights, the second week she had 2 wet nights, the third week she had one wet night, and that was the last time she woke up wet. We are completing our sixth week - and she has been dry almost 3 weeks now. I was skeptical but willing to try anything - my pediatrician recomended the bedwetting store. I am so glad. My only suggestion for girls is to hook the sensor at the very bottom of the underwear almost towards the back - since that is where girls get wet first. Hooking the sensor toward the front as suggested in the manual is not effective for a girl. Wonderful product!

Comments:

My son has been using this alarm for five weeks and the last 2 1/2 weeks have been very dry with the exception of one night. My son loves being dry in the morning and he is so proud of himself, as am I. We were wondering if our 11 year old could ever be dry at night and then a urologist suggested it. This is the best thing to correct the bedwetting issue.

Our 7 year old son was afraid to have sleep overs. He would wet the bed nightly. He was discouraged and hated to wear pull-ups. We would limit drinks before bed, wake him on the night to take him to the toilet. Our doctor said that he would "out grow" bedwetting. I found the bed alarm on line and ordered that very day. My son was so excited. We read the book and followed the recommendations. Within 5 days he was able to get up use the bathroom and reset the alarm, He is so proud of himself.

PROS

  • Truly works

CONS

BEST USES

  • Used every night

Comments:

My Laila had just turned 7 in December and was bedwetting every single night. I decided it was time to stop buying pull-ups. I purchased the Ultimate bedwetting alarm starter kit. The first couple of nights it was a little scary for Laila with the vibrating and sound. I changed the setting to sound only. The alarm would go off every night 2 or 3 times for the first two-three weeks. Then slowly just one. Now Laila wakes up without the alarm going off to go potty. It is a relief for both her and I. I would definately recommend this to any parent going through this situation!

  • Worked in the first week

CONS

  • Clip uncomfortable

BEST USES

  • Multi-wetting
  • Nightly wetting

Comments:

Extremely efficient. Worked in less than a week on vibrate only (alarm noise scared the child as well as awakened rest of household). Easy for child to participate in setting it up every night. CON - clip for underwear is uncomfortable. Had to wear on leg opening of underwear, however, still yielded results.

CONS

  • Floppy on shoulder

BEST USES

Comments:

I use the alarms for my twin boys who share a bedroom. They are 7 years old and have had only intermittent dry nights over the past 2-3 years. I purchased different sounding alarms let me know who to help in the dark. The alarms do not seem to wake or annoy the brother in the next bed, I am sure the vibration component is important! Sometimes the alarms do not wake my boys fully, but usually enough for them to stop urinating. The boys occasionally complain about the alarm flopping on the shoulder or the wire against the skin/neck, but they fall asleep pretty quickly despite this! We have been using the alarms for about a month, and each boy has had success in a full week's dryness and after the first two weeks, only wet/damp underwear and pajamas. No more wet bed sheets! I am confident within another few months, we will have total success. We are looking forward to slumber parties without having to hide disposable sleep pants and camping without wet sleeping bags!

the pads for the bed are a huge savings on laundry and are much easier to use that ones I have used in past. I also appreciate the book which has helped my child to understand that bedwetting is not his fault and to help him gain confidence in managing this on his own.

Comments:

I was definately skeptical that this type of solution would work for my son because he sleeps so hard nothing seems to wake him up. However, he was awakened from the first night by the combination of the alarm & vibration feature on the model we chose. I did have to get up with him & lead him to the bathroom the first week because he was half-asleep. In the second week he started going to the bathroom some of the times by himself - we had 1 dry night in the second week. Third week - we had 5 dry nights. My son is 9 and this is probably as many dry nights as he has had in his lifetime. So far (we're in the fourth week) he has had 8 dry nights in a row. I appreciate how the books caution that it takes 12 weeks on the average for success - that really helped me set my expectations. I also appreciated the hints the other parents gave.

Comments:

We used this product for my 8 year old who hjad never been dry through the night but decided he no longer wanted to wear a pull up. He would wet the bed, and a lot, twice a night and wouldn't wake up when he would wet. I was very, very skeptical about trying this alarm especially since it is a little pricey, but I was tired of changing sheets and he was frustrated about still wetting and needing a pull up, so I ordered the kit. I thought he was going to be resistant to wearing it, but he was very excited to try it. The first night he wore it, he woke up 2 times. I wrote the alarm is too low, because we sometimes couldn;t hear it in our room, but my son is a sound sleeper and it woke him up. I think a baby monitor would help with it. The first week he wore the alarm, he had one dry night. The second week he wore the alarm, he had 4 dry nights! He didn't wet at all the third or fourth week and he is now in the 5th week and is staying dry throughout the night without the alarm! I never thought he would be pull up free! He is so thrilled and cannot wait to have his first sleep over! Now to get his younger brother to wear it and we will be pull up free!!!
