PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: Our 6-year-old son has been daytime-dry for a long, long time. But at night, he was practically un-wake-able. Even if we could get him onto his feet for a trip to the bathroom, he could manage the walk, the business, and the return to bed without ever fully waking. His mother and I were out of ideas. Fortunately, his pediatrician mentioned the idea of bedwetting alarms. After doing some research, we settled on Malem's product. The price was a bit higher than we might have expected, but certainly not prohibitive. And besides, we were already hemorrhaging funds toward the purchase of nighttime pull-up diapers anyway. So we give the product a shot. After the first couple of nights, I was pretty pessimistic. Our son could sleep right through the alarm sound and vibration. But gradually he started responding to the device more quickly. In a few more days he was able to wake with the alarm before releasing the majority of his urine. And things continued to trend positively so that after just a couple of weeks, he was having dry nights! We have two recommendations for the use of this device: First, while the manufacturers praise the use of the absorbent pads as a way to avoid washing sheets, you still wind up washing the pads just as much as you would sheets. We suggest attaching the alarm to underwear, and then putting a nighttime pull-up diaper over the underwear (and then the pajamas). That leaves *nothing* to wash when accidents occur. Secondly, the device attaches with a large safety pin. It's recommended that this be attached to the shoulder of the pajama shirt, but unless your kid wears really tight clothing, this is just a great way for him or her to get hit in the head with a loosely swinging block of plastic! Our boy is a side sleeper, so we attached the alarm on his pants waistline at the back. He probably didn't hear it as well because it was under his blankets and such, but it was good enough and the vibration feature did its job. (I reserved the fifth star… |

PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: I bought this product as a last resort for my 7 year old daughter. She was potty trained by 2 and didn't have any problems until about 3 and 1/2 when she started wetting in the day and night and having constant bladder infections. Finally, she was diagnosed with over active bladder and was put on medication. Within 1 day the medication helped, but her night time wetting continued on. We tried everything, even a new diet and reward chart. I was in tears over this, it kept us both up at night changing sheets, she cried because she wanted to stay dry so badly. So I ordered the kit. She responded quickly, I didn't have to get up with her, she did it on her own. The book says some parents need to stay with the child the first few nights, but She was one of the independent ones in this case. We have had it approx. 6 weeks now and she hasn't fully wet her bed in 5 weeks. The first two weeks she would "dribble" as we called it and the alarm would wake her, she would STOP the urine and go to the potty. I haven't had to strip her bed because it was wet since we got this kit. She is either totally dry or has a dribble. Right now we are going to wait another 3 days and start the every other day program. She loves it because it taught her to stay dry. We gave it a name the first night to make it silly and fun. THANK YOU MALEM!!!! |

Comments: My daughter is only 5, so still young, but old enough to understand. In the first 30 days she has only had 7 wet nights, and before it was every night. She doesn't want the alarm to go off so she is much more conscious and involved in the process. Both me and her are so proud! |

PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: My 7 year old son could not wake up at night no matter what we did. I kept thinking he would grow out of it, but that was clearly not happening. After lots of research, and wanting to avoid medications, our pediatrician told us about this product. We ordered it and three weeks later he is dry through the night. Wakes up on his own for the bathroom. We were amazed. Don't wait, I wish we had done it sooner. |

Comments: Great product! We had previously tried a different alarm with no success. My ten year old was normally wet 2-3 times a week. We started using the alarm and noticed an improvement in two weeks. After four weeks, he was dry every night. He has been 100% dry now for about six weeks and appears to be completely cured. Get this alarm now! |

BEST USES Comments: Our 6 year old started using this after many months of unsuccessful use of pull-ups or underwear that she could not keep dry. We actually only used the audible alarm a couple times and then switched to vibrate and she now hears it every time and gets up and goes to the bathroom. At first we went in when we heard the alarm or she would come get us for assistance. Very soon she learned how to get up and go to the bathroom by herself and then reattach the alarm sensor and reset the alarm. We had several successful weeks of complete dryness after nightly wet messes. Occasionally she will get a tiny bit wet and then the alam alerts her and she gets up to go. FAR better than the pull-ups, or worse-no pull ups and a messy bed in the middle of the night. The only hassles are the pin (can leave holes in certain fabrics) and that she has to wear the sensor with a cord... It would be better if it were remote somwhow. |

PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: One of my twin four year olds was still wetting the bed nightly. I weighed the cost of the Malem alarm over nightly pullups and waited to buy this alarm for far to long. I don't know if my results are typical or not but he only had to wear the alarm for two weeks, and Volia no more bed wetting!! This device is worth its weight in gold!! |

PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: My nine year old daughter has wet the bed at night consistently with only a few chance dry nights. She was using the largest size pull up available and it still was not holding all of the urine. It was getting to the point that she would cry because she was so ashamed and afraid to go on any sleepovers for fear of being embarrassed. We discussed the alarm together and decided to give it a try. Within two weeks she was completely dry at night and getting up without the use of the alarm. Her self-confidence has blossomed. We are so thankful for this product. She has been consistently dry for over a month now. The only regret is that we did not give it a try sooner. |

PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: It really works. My daughter stopped bed-wetting in the first week. We had 2 or 3 "accidents" in the first few weeks; but, after that, no wetting. This is after wearing Pull-Ups and wetting them every night for years! I wish we started this much earlier. |

PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: I have a 7 year-old who had NEVER gone through the night dry, no matter how many times I got him up in the night. I've used this alarm for 2 1/2 weeks and we've had 5 consecutive dry nights!!! There was a week of nights when I felt like I had a newborn again, up 3 or 4 times through the night. DON'T GIVE UP!!It works. |

BEST USES Comments: This product was wonderful. My 6 year old son, who is a very heavy sleeper, was very self-conscience about his peeing in bed. He woke up the first time we used it and had only had a few drops in his underware. He only soaked himself once and after using it for 3 weeks, we are now not using it at all. He's been dry for 2 weeks straight. He's very proud of himself. The only complaint is that it's a little heavy to pin to the top of a shirt. I used another safety pin below the unit. This helped to support it and kept it from falling against my son's face. He did have a hard time turning off the alarm, which was good so he couldn't turn it off in his sleep. The alarm was well worth the money!!! |

PROS CONS BEST USES Comments: I have nothing negative to say...By week 2, my son was having dry nights for the first time in his life (he's nine years old). He's happy and confident now. From the moment we began using it diapers became a thing of the past. After 3 weeks, he still wears it but most of the time now he wakes up naturally to go to the bathroom instead of being woken by the alarm.[...] We bought the complete kit and I highly recommend it as both the pads and book that came with the alarm were useful. |
