Most people think of children wetting beds, but it is an issue for many elderly people as well, especially those with Alzheimers, like my mother. I recently felt the need to buy her a whole new mattress and box spring because her mattress had become so stained and it smelled awful. I wanted to protect the new mattress with a cover which caregivers at the assisted living place could easily clean in the middle of the night. This is one of two items I'm using specifically for keeping the mattress dry, and it seems to be working well.

Very nice, big enough, mattress cover, impermeable. Careful, though, putting it on and taking off - easy to rip. I guess they all are, bc this is the heaviest one I have bought to date. There is rip tape attached at zipper head.

These are sturdy, won't rip. I had one from a store that shredded with use, it was like a shower curtain. If it wasn't for my husband I would have thrown the mattress out on the curb after a nasty kid virus. I probably will get a new one soon anyway but I will definitely be keeping these covers on so I don't ever have to deal with a throw up mess ever again! Also, my 4 year old reverted back to occasional bedwetting so I needed these until he ended that phase.

If the sleeper has high body heat, plastic has a shorter life. It will sound crackly and eventually rip and crack over time.

The item was purchased to stem bothersome fumes emanating from a new mattress. My spouse suffers from severe allergies and sensitivities. The cover was poorly constructed. One seam spit where it met the zipper. The seam was not properly 'finished' at that location and it unraveled. The opposite side was not constructed in the same way. We spent about two months letting the vinyl cover out-gas on our porch before installing it, hence, if there was any warranty it probably expired. We attempted to repair it with a stapler but the repair does not have the same qualities as a properly finished seam.

I tried one mattress cover and was so pleased w/ the quality I purchased more. It isn't crinkly, or stiff, but it is nice and thick and should last.

I would not order this product again. It ripped before I even got it on the bed for the first time. Not a heavy duty product, as it suggests.

This product has been a life saver for a mattress. It is used by a person with disabilites and has to transfer onto bed. Have had no ripping issues with that and fits bed well. Has also with stood several accidents. Only thing would comment on is shows stains easier then I thought - but does better if wash down with bleach.
